What does it mean to be truly blessed by God?
Sometimes we look at our lives, and don't see any evidence of God's blessing! We may struggle with all sorts of issues, like poor health, lack of finance, family disasters and challenges, marriage splits, personal tragedy and grief, and the list could go on... and on!! And we come to the point of questioning God's love and faithfulness! "Where is God when I need Him?" We say, "Why God?.. when God? and HELP?"
Well, that was my prayer earlier this week!!
And that's how Mary and Martha would have felt with their brother Lazarus.... that's how the Israelites felt at the Red Sea.... and Peter when he walked on water.... and with Jehoshaphat when the Amorites and Moabites had come against them...
But I love the verse in 2 Chr 20.....
"Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of the great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's....You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem." (v.15,17)
I believe God... I believe His word... but not seeing anything happening... YET!! And it says in His word to call on Him and He WILL answer!! So I'm waiting!! The only thing I can do is hang on to His promises!!... and realise it's only by His grace and mercy... not by my efforts!!
So earlier this week, I did not FEEL blessed!! (But hang on in there, things did change...)
